岩沢村

本村は往古から岩沢村と呼ばれており、薮神荘上川郷に属して島村、坊村、塩沢、中村、町村、山谷、市ノ口、岩山、池ノ又、田代、小土山、外之沢、大崩、池ノ平の十二部落よりなっている。

明治5年下條村と共に第十一小区に属していたが、22年町村制が施行されて無民戸の字豊久新田を下條村より転入した。

また、大崩は大土山といって小土山と対照的な名であったが、前平ノ内のノゲ間と言う所が大きく崩壊したことがあって、それから大崩と呼ぶようになったと言われている。崩れた年月日は分かっていない。

Iwasawa Village
Our region of is since long time before called Iwasawa village which located in the center of Niigata prefecture

 consisted 12 small chapters. After Meiji revolution, In 1871 Iwasawa belonged to the eleventh subdivision of with Shimojo village but in 1889 the municipal system was enforced and Iwasawa village, Toyohisa Shinda merged, Iwasawa village was established. In 1955 iwasawa village was transferred to Ojiya city and annihilated

Now Iwasawa is a part of Ojiya city
